Unemployed, now – what?!
A s of September 19th, I joined the 9.4 million Americans that are unemployed. What dismal numbers for America. I now have to find away to pay mortgage and other bills. I’ve thought of consulting work but am not outgoing enough to promote myself. I’m really good at pharmaceutical audits and even better as a speaker and trainer. I’ve been told this hundreds of times. I held a training session last week and out of the 28 evaluations returned, the lowest mark was a 4 and the highest you can get is a 5. This is the norm for me when I do presentations. I would love to work for myself but have always held back because I feared the uncertainty – the unknown.
I knew the company was going to have to layoff and I’ve been looking for work for a year. Unfortunately, it means I’ll have to relocate, I like it where I am and I like my home but I have to go where the jobs are. I just wish I could be happier about it.
