POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN INFECTIOUS DISEASES
A post-doctoral position is available to study the role of the cytokine macrophage migration inhibitory factor (MIF) in dendritic cell ontogeny and effector functions bridging innate and adaptive immunity. The research project will focus primarily on dendritic cell biology and function, including capture and killing of microbial pathogens, cell activation, maturation, expression and release of effector molecules and priming of the adaptive immune response (antigen processing, presentation, activation of T cells and differentiation of T cells subsets). Applications are invited from candidates (PhD or MD/PhD) with a strong background in innate immunity and dendritic cells biology. We are looking for highly motivated applicants with a good organizational and analytical skills and a good practice of English. Experience/skills in immunology, cell biology, biochemisty and molecular biology (cell culture, flow cytometry, real-time PCR, Western blotting and ELISA) is required.
The candidate is expected to supervise PhD or MD students. The project is supported by a grant from the Swiss National Science Foundation and funds from the Infectious Diseases Service. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience according to the scale of the University of Lausanne, Switzerland. Position is available immediately and appointment will be initially for two years with possibility of extension. The CHUV is part of a vast network of internationally renowned research institutions of the Lemanic area of Switzerland, including the University of Lausanne, the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), the Ludwig Institute and the Swiss Institute for Experimental Cancer Research.

EPFL, one of Europe’s premier institutes of science and technology, invites applications for a full professor position in the context of Swiss Finance Institute at EPFL. This position forms a strategic part of plans of EPFL to create a world-class research and teaching initiative in financial engineering. Applicants must have an excellent research record with top international publications and be highly visible in the profession. We are looking for a professor who is active in one of the following areas:
- Entrepreneurial finance, including venture capital, applied contract theory, and real options analysis
- Market Microstructure and market design
The ideal candidate should be comfortable to work in a multidisciplinary environment, open to engage with researchers in related fields, both inside CDM (e.g., economics or management) and on the EPFL campus at large (e.g. mathematics, operations research computer science). The position will be housed in the newly created Lausanne Center for Finance, which is a joint undertaking of EPFL and the University of Lausanne.
